What Is Coaching?
Who is Coaching For?

Coaching is a partnership (defined as an alliance, not a legal business partnership) between the Coach and the Client in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the client to maximize personal and professional potential.  It is designed for anyone interested in facilitating the creation and/or development of personal, professional or business goals and to develop and carry out a detailed strategy or plan of action for achieving those goals.

Introduction/Orientation Discussion

Data gathering phase.  The coach meets with you (or your agency representative or boss) to discuss the overall purpose or goal of the coaching.

Agreement/Contracting

The coach drafts an agreement for the engagement, indicating the scope of work and financial terms.  

Coachability/Assessment

Determine whether or not the coaching can be successful and worthwhile…are you and the coach a good match.  Coach will also determine the gap between your desired performance and the level of your strengths and weaknesses.

Feedback and Action Plan

Involves the coach reviewing all relevant data with you and then working with you to co-create a action plan; highlighting your strengths and opportunities for growth. 

Coaching/Evaluation

Conducted via face-to-face or virtual meetings between you and the coach.  These meetings usually occur twice a month and are an hour in length, typically over the course of six months to a year.  At the conclusion of the coaching, the coach and you will meet to review the level of accomplishment against agreed upon goals.

As a leader, coaching involves unlocking your ability and willingness to effectively lead individuals or a specific team(s) toward the successful achievement of desired  goals or an organizational mission.

As a team member or individual performer, coaching will help you discover and identify various ways and means to consistently meet and/or far exceed performance requirements and expectations.

Coaching is designed to help you realize the value or importance of self-awareness and the awareness of others; enabling you to think and communicate strategically, while networking effectively and building positive relationships.
